Quick and Easy Small Kitchen Organization

Ya’ll.  I have been SO busy lately.  No, I do not have kids (yet), but between my full-time job and multiple side hustles I feel like I barely have time to breathe when I get home.  This results in neglecting my daily household chores and the clutter piles up.

Let’s jump into some facts. Did you know that disorganization causes stress and anxiety? It is a proven fact that a cluttered home or work-space will leave us feeling anxious, hopeless, and overwhelmed.  Why does mess give us so much stress?

Clutter is constantly sending signals to our brain stimulating and overwhelming it, causing difficulties in relaxing both mentally and physically. I don’t know about you guys, but my kitchen gets very cluttered VERY quickly. We have a pretty small kitchen, so it’s not hard to accumulate clutter.

Since one of my side-hustles involves my kitchen, I spend a lot of time in there in the clutter and stressed OUT. So, I’m here to share some quick and easy tips I found to declutter and organize our kitchen!

  1. Keep a cutting board over the sink for temporary extra counter space.  Don’t mind me, I’m just running to my closest store to get a new cutting board because this is GENIOUS.  I have limited counter space, so this is a very functional (and aesthetically pleasing) way to add space and get my extra bowls off the countertops while cooking.

2. Use a shoe organizer to store cleaning products under the sink.  This is another SUPER easy one!  You can pick one of these up for a few bucks, cut it to fit the cabinet you’re wanting to organize, then split everything up.  The best part of this is that it doesn’t just apply to the kitchen area.

3. Hang some cork board on the inside of your cabinets.  This one is also super cheap and REALLY handy.  I cannot tell you how many times i’ve had to pull every single thing out of my drawer trying to find a tablespoon.  You can find these in the office section at any store for relatively cheap, and usually they already come with little stickers that you can use to attach them!  Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Well those are all of the tips I have for you this Monday!  I hope these help you organize your kitchen (big or small) and help relieve some of the stress from your day to day.

Happy organizing!
